Arash Amighi, MD
Dr. Arash Amighi was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He completed his undergraduate studies at UCLA where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in microbiology, immunology, and molecular genetics. He went on to obtain his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He participated in bench research in prostate cancer as well as translational studies on Peyronie’s disease. He was awarded an AUA summer medical student fellowship as well as UCLA’s Dean’s Leadership in Health and Science Scholarship. Arash was drawn to urology residency training at the University of Washington because of the diversity of clinical training sites and amazing culture of the program.
Outside of the hospital Arash enjoys exploring the nature around Seattle, barbecuing, running and cooking.
Daniel Carson, MD
Dr. Daniel Carson was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. He graduated with departmental honors from the University of Washington with a combined BS/MS degree in Bioengineering.
Daniel graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine, as part of the WWAMI program. During his time in medical school, he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha. His research interest includes applications of bioengineering in the treatment of urologic conditions.
Outside of medicine, Daniel enjoys running, hiking, camping, as well as spending time with friends and family. He is also an avid sports fan following the Seattle Seahawks and Sounders.
Alexandra Jacobs, MD
Dr. Alexandra Jacobs graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations. She went on to join Teach for America in Nashville, Tennessee where she worked in public education for five years and earned her Master’s degree in Education. She returned to her hometown of Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah for medical school.
Dr. Jacobs research interests include patient education, patient reported outcomes, and outcome disparities. She enjoys yoga, hiking, skiing, traveling, and spending time with family, friends, and her dog.

Connor Chestnut, MD
Dr. Connor Chestnut is from Lawrence, Kansas and attended the University of Kansas where he studied Biology and Spanish. He completed his medical degree at the University of Kansas Medical Center and was elected as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism honor societies.
Connor’s research interests include urologic cancers and chronic pain syndromes. Outside of medicine he enjoys reading, music, and everything outdoors.
Lillian Lindell, MD
Dr. Lillian Lindell graduated cum laude from Yale University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. She went on to obtain her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. She was also selected as a Leadership and Innovation Fellowship Training scholar by the Department of Urology at the University of California, Irvine, where she participated in bench research in renal cancer and translational research in xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lindell enjoys hiking, reading, and painting.
Rilwan Babajide, MD
Originally from Houston, Dr. Babajide, graduated from Wesleyan University with Bachelor's degrees in Neuroscience and Psychology. Afterwards he moved to Chicago to work with underserved high school students as part of a college access program and stayed to attend medical school at the University of Chicago. Before starting his residency here, he completed a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and is interested in clinical applications of machine learning, urologic oncology, and strategies to reduce health disparities.
In his free time, Dr. Babajide enjoys playing basketball, bar trivia, and finding new restaurants.
Trevor McKoy, MD
Trevor McKoy graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He earned his Master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at Touro Medical College and his MD at Wright State University School of Medicine. During medical school he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was recognized for his integrity, clinical excellence and commitment to his community.
Trevor enjoys live Soul, Funk and Jazz music, Business, Boxing, and Fishing. Being a native of Seattle he is looking forward to investing in the same communities that have fostered his growth.

Maheetha Bharadwaj, MD
Dr. Maheetha Bharadwaj graduated with a Bachelors of Science with Honors in Biology and a Masters of Science in biomedical informatics from Stanford University. She went on to obtain a Masters of Philosophy in Genomic Medicine from the University of Cambridge. She went on to participate in the MD program in Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Bharadwaj’s research interests include finding the intersection between genomics and equity research particularly in kidney and bladder cancers. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, watching TV shows, and creating tiktoks! She’s excited to explore the pacific northwest!
Maximilian Jentzsch, MD, MS
Dr. Jentzsch grew up in Germany before coming to the United States for college. He graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with High Honors in Biology and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. He went on to obtain a Master of Science in Biostatistics from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His research there focused on the impact of insurance payment policies on hospital-acquired infections. Dr. Jentzsch completed medical school at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Having spent many years racing as a competitive cyclist, he loves almost all outdoor activities and is very excited to explore the PNW.
PGY-3
Gabrielle Nortey, MD
Dr. Gabrielle Akwele Nortey grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She then spent a year serving with AmeriCorps as a Patient Benefits Advocate in Pittsburgh, PA where she helped underinsured patients obtain social services including prescription, housing, disability, and nutrition assistance.
She went on to obtain a Masters of Science in Physiology from North Carolina State University. She later matriculated to UNC Chapel Hill where she obtained her medical degree. During her time there, she was selected as a Howard Holderness Distinguished Medical Scholar and Clinician Leadership in Quality and Safety Scholar and was funded to complete a one-year research fellowship. She led projects in quality improvement in urology procedure clinic and in patient engagement among historically marginalized communities with bladder cancer. She is driven by her goal to see racial/ethnic healthcare disparities eliminated. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, movies, spending time with friends and family, and gassing up Dr's Overton, Rothenberger, and Purcell.
Kanesha Overton, MD
Kanesha Overton was born and raised in Washington, DC. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she majored in Industrial and Systems Engineering. She entered industry for four years working as a Manufacturing Engineer at 3M and Systems Engineer Manager at Ulta Beauty. She then obtained her medical degree from Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Her research background is in microbiology, AI, and chronic stress. She is looking to develop research in medical innovation and quality improvement. In her spare time Kanesha enjoys traveling, caring for her plants, and trying new local outdoor adventures.
Caroline Purcell, MD
Carrie is from central Pennsylvania and completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and French at Vanderbilt University. Following graduation, she worked at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, a Global Health research institute at the University of Washington where she studied the global burden of kidney and urinary diseases. During this time, she completed her MPH in Global Health Metrics and Evaluation at the UW. She returned to Philadelphia for medical school at Thomas Jefferson University where she was elected as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
Carrie enjoys playing board games, spending time in the great outdoors, and exploring the local concert scene.
Natalie Rothenberger, MD
Natalie Rothenberger graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh. She then graduated with a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and pursued research in cancer pharmacology prior to starting medical school at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.
Outside the hospital, Natalie enjoys hiking, running, time with friends and family, and exploring Seattle’s many coffee shops.

Cameron Futral, MD
Cameron Futral was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Davidson College where he studied biology. After college, he spent two years working as a urology research coordinator in Charlotte, North Carolina, focusing on overactive bladder and stress urinary incontinence.
He returned to Atlanta to attend Emory University School of Medicine, where his clinical rotations solidified his passion for urology. In his free time, Cam loves camping, hiking, fly-fishing, gaming, and exploring Seattle with his partner (and their future dog).
Taseen Haque, MD
Taseen Haque is originally from Northern Virginia and attended Duke University for his undergraduate degree, graduating with a B.A. in Public Policy Studies. Afterwards, he spent two years as a Business Analyst at Capital One. He then went to the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism honor societies. He was a research assistant for the Hung Robotics Lab, which helped inspire his interest in urology. Dr. Haque's research interests include applications of machine learning in the assessment of robotic surgery and the delivery of urologic oncology care in the United States.
In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, exploring nature in and around Seattle, and traveling with his family.
Hueylie Lin, MD, MPH, AM
Hueylie was born in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Taiwan. She returned to the United States for college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she majored in Biology and Comparative Literature. After several years of biomedical research, she developed an interest in population health and medicine and obtained a Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. She went on to earn her medical degree at UT Health San Antonio, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism honor societies. Hueylie is interested in research to understand health disparities and improve access to care. Outside of work, she enjoys rock climbing, hiking, games and puzzles, and having good food and drink in good company.
Halimat (Shola) Olaoluwa, MD, MPH
Shola Olaoluwa was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and spent her early years in Lagos, Nigeria, creating a diverse cultural background that continues to influence her perspective in medicine. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology at THE Ohio State University. Continuing her academic journey, Dr. Olaoluwa completed a Master of Public Health (MPH) and obtained her medical degree from Wright State University. Her exceptional academic achievements led to her induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society during medical school, recognizing her dedication to excellence and leadership in healthcare.
Shola’s research and clinical interests include addressing healthcare disparities, enhancing quality improvement initiatives, advancing men’s health issues, and contributing to medical education.
Outside of her professional pursuits, she finds fulfillment in exploring different cultures through travel, reading novels, aerial arts, and seeking solace in the serene natural landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.
Interns, PGY-1
Shannon Martin, MD, MS
Shannon Martin, MD, MS grew up in Morgan Hill, California, and studied Human Biology at Stanford University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa while competing on the NCAA Division I Beach Volleyball team. She then completed an MS in Epidemiology and Clinical Research at Stanford before earning her MD at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine. Building upon her graduate training, Shannon went on to pursue multiple research opportunities at UCLA to investigate surgical and urologic outcomes. For her work, she was awarded the AUA Medical Student Scholarship and the Viola G Hyde Surgical Research Grant. Beyond research, Shannon enjoys teaching and mentoring, which has inspired her to pursue a career as a urologic surgeon-scientist to balance these passions with clinical care. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband and dog, Luna. You can usually find them all together outside at the park playing fetch or at the beach playing volleyball.
Gabriela (Gabi) Sarriera Valentin, MD, MS
Gabriela Sarriera Valentin, MD, MS was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Vermont where she majored in Microbiology and minored in English. Upon graduating she worked for Partners in Health where she cultivated her interest in global health and social medicine. She went on to obtain her medical degree from the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha and Aequitas honor societies.
Gabriela's clinical and research interest surround increasing access to urologic care for rural patients, global health, and quality improvement.
Outside of the hospital she enjoys spending time with her wife and their pets, visiting the various farmers markets in Seattle, reading, cycling, and contemplating the meaning of life.
Farshad Sheybaee Moghaddam, MD
Farshad Sheybaee Moghaddam, MD was born and raised in Zahedan, Iran. He earned his medical degree and completed his urology residency at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. He then moved to the United States, where he pursued a research fellowship at the University of Southern California. His work has focused on clinical trials in prostate and upper tract urothelial cancers, as well as translational research in UTUC. His research interests include urothelial carcinoma, biomarker development, and outcome disparities.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, charcoal drawing and playing with his cats.
Karissa Yamaguchi, MD
Karissa Yamaguchi, MD was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Minor in Public Health at Texas A&M University where she graduated summa cum laude and was awarded the Brown Foundation-Earl Rudder Memorial Outstanding Student Award. She went on to obtain her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism honor societies. She contributed as an author in the American Urological Association's Update Series on Hemostatic Agents and is interested in pursuing research in surgical education and socioeconomic disparities in Urologic care. Karissa was drawn to urology residency training at the University of Washington because of the supportive culture of the program and its commitment to serving the most vulnerable.
Outside of the hospital Karissa enjoys traveling, rock climbing, paddleboarding, and exploring the Seattle food and coffee scene.
