Dr. Nicholson is a general urologist with a special interest in male reproductive and sexual medicine and surgery. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at the University of Washington and received her MD and PhD in Pathology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
For her PhD research, which was supported by a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award, she studied estrogen action in benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with Dr. William Ricke, PhD. Dr. Nicholson then returned to the University of Washington and completed her general and urologic surgical training.
During her research time, she conducted research on microscale cell culture systems for study of testis cells under the mentorship of Dr. Ashleigh Theberge, PhD and Dr. Tom Walsh, MD.
