Biography
Justin Achua was born in San Diego, California, and raised in Norton, Virginia, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of South Dakota with a degree in biology before earning a master’s degree in neuroscience, where his research focused on stress, anxiety, and decision-making. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed his urology residency at the University of Colorado, where he was awarded the University of Colorado Resident Research Award. During residency, he was also selected as an SMSNA/SSMR Men’s Health Traveling Fellow for the 2025 AUA Annual Meeting. His clinical and research interests include men’s sexual health, male infertility, Peyronie’s disease, and prosthetic urology. Justin was drawn to the University of Washington for fellowship training because of its strong tradition in andrology, male reproductive medicine, and complex men’s health surgery.
Outside of the hospital, Justin enjoys snowboarding, hiking and exploring the outdoors with his wife and their two dogs, reading fantasy novels, and playing D&D with friends.
