UW Urology’s Dr. Robert Sweet recently received the Seattle Business Magazine’s Gold Award for Achievement in Medical Technology. The award recognizes Dr. Sweet’s contributions to the field of healthcare simulation.

Robert Sweet

Dr. Sweet, Executive Director of WAMI Institute for Simulation in Healthcare (WISH) and the Center for Research in Education and Simulation Technologies (CREST), has lead dramatic scientific advances by each of the two related, but separate health care simulation programs.

“What’s exciting now,” Dr. Sweet says, “is that simulation science in health care is transitioning from sort of being fringe and ‘nice to have’ to being part of the true culture of health care.”
