Biography

Dr. Koehne was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in French from Truman State University. She then attended the University of Missouri for medical school where she earned the Ian M. Thompson, Sr. Award for outstanding achievement in urology and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Koehne completed her urology residency at Loyola University Medical Center. During her training, she earned two Magis Star awards for excellence in clinical care and the Department of Urology Academic Achievement Award.

Dr. Koehne was inspired by her mentors and patients to pursue a career in urologic oncology and looks forward to serving the people of her new community. Her research focuses on understanding the interaction of the immune system with urologic cancers and developing strategies to predict and improve responses to therapy. Clinically, she is interested in caring for geriatric and medically complex patients with genitourinary malignancies.

 

Personal interests

Outside of work, Dr. Koehne enjoys hiking, jogging, and taking her two dogs for long walks with her husband.
