Biography
(Lisa) Zhang grew up in Beijing, China, and Singapore before coming to the United States for college. She attended Washington University in St. Louis and earned a degree in Environmental Policy and Biology. During her medical school training at Stanford University, her interests were in bioengineering, entrepreneurship, medical humanities, community service for the medically underprivileged population, and student mentorship. She received the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute Dorothy Dee & Marjorie Helene Boring Trust Award, and Biodesign NEXT Innovation Award. She was particularly attracted to the University of Washington Urology program by the inclusive and supportive culture in the department, as well as a very strong and balanced clinical training.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring different artistic outlets, from painting, documentary making, theater production, to woodworking in the basement, and trying out the numerous outdoor activities Seattle has to offer.
